Using ChordAXE in Logic Pro
Record MIDI Plugin Output to Get Chord Notes
👂 🖐️ Create instrument chord tracks by ear and feel
🔴 🎹 Capture your generated MIDI for optional note editing
Install the Free or Full plugin
Then download one of the Logic Pro demo files to try out the setup shown in the video
Control ChordAXE with a keyboard, MIDI region, or MIDI pattern region. Use Logic's Step Sequencer to make chord changes and express them with rhythmic patterns. Then record the ChordAXE MIDI output to a separate instrument track to capture the notes produced from your changes and patterns. This method avoids having to drag and drop notes from a generator, and preserves all the timing and feel that you created live. BASIC SETUP • Insert ChordAXE in the MIDI FX slot on any Software Instrument Track • Control ChordAXE from a keyboard, MIDI region, or Step Sequencer pattern RECORD THE CHORDAXE MIDI PLUGIN OUTPUT • Add a second Software Instrument Track and open it's Track inspector • On the second track, set the MIDI Input to Logic Pro Virtual In • Also on the second track, set the Internal MIDI In to Instrument input from ChordAXE track • Record the output of the ChordAXE track to this track • Use or edit the recorded MIDI to play any instrument plugin 😎
