ChordAXE is an innovative MIDI plugin that empowers songwriters, producers, and composers to produce harmony by ear and feel. It sparks creativity with a musical workflow for finding, arranging, and expressing chord changes in real-time. It comes with presets of timeless progressions and a playable Mesh interface for exploring limitless harmonic possibilities.
ChordAXE is for anyone who wants to create harmonic music with virtual instruments—whether for songwriting, beat making, film scoring, playing covers, or live jamming. It’s ideal for guitarists who know chords but struggle on keyboards, as well as anyone looking to explore chord changes and voicings that are tricky to play on guitars or keyboards. Musicians of all skill levels can benefit, especially those who prefer creating by ear over theory, regardless of their musical training.
ChordAXE inspires new ideas and adds harmonic richness to your music, whether starting fresh or enhancing works in progress. It offers presets of timeless, genre-transcending chord changes to borrow freely, plus a highly playable interface that toggles between a MIDI keyboard view and a game-changing Mesh view, letting you explore limitless harmonic possibilities hands-on until you find what resonates. Craft chord changes intentionally or through experimentation, then arrange them in any key with varied voicings and bring them to life with rhythmic patterns.
ChordAXE uses an ear- and feel-driven approach to harmony, unlike chord plugins that rely on rigid theory and scales. Its live-playing workflow for finding, arranging, and expressing chords frees the mind to focus on music instead of navigating menus and prompts. Its highly playable interface, toggling between a MIDI keyboard view and a game-changing Mesh view, offers hands-on harmonic exploration like a musical instrument, an experience no other tool provides.

No. Instead, it uses a sophisticated real-time chord engine that enables computers to process chords as musical objects–just like notes and beats.
MIDI plugins insert on DAW instrument tracks. They typically receive notes from MIDI keyboards and modify them musically before passing them on to virtual instruments. MIDI plugins may also generate notes from mouse, trackpad, or QWERTY keyboard input. They can be used to modify expression of individual notes, or to generate complex streams of notes sourced from human creativity or artificial intelligence.
